AMAZING is what I would say if I only had one word to recap this Running/Mother’s Day weekend.

As always, RunDisney knows how to put on a show. Running through the parks is magical and is what you pay a premium for over other races. This was a great race for my parents and me. We trained to walk it with short bursts of running interspersed and I’m proud to say that my Mom and Dad got a PR this past weekend! *high fives all around*
We stayed at the Disneyland Hotel for the first time ever as well. As a kid, I was lucky enough to go to Disneyland every year for my birthday since we lived pretty close. That being said, there was no reason to stay at the Disneyland Hotel because we could just drive home but I have always wanted to stay there! It did not disappoint. I decided to splurge since it was Mother’s Day. I have to say that it was absolutely magical! Chip greeted my parents at check-in. And it was so convenient having the expo and finish line at/close to the hotel. Just go ahead and take all my money RunDisney why don’t you!?!
My parents and I finished in 1:54 and my hubby came to cheer us on. I loved that my Mom had enough energy to sprint at the end. She said she did it for her coach (me). After checking out, we had a big character breakfast at Storyteller’s Cafe at the Grand Californian. There we met up with one of my best friends and his sister from out of town who completed the Neverland 5k, their first race ever!
Afterward, the hubster and I had a Disney date wandering around the parks. Those are the best. 🙂
Thanks, RunDisney! You know you’re my favorite. Until the Disneyland 10K in September!
