The inaugural Star Wars 10K came and went and was really awesome. As I wasn’t prepared, I walk-ran it with my pal B at intervals of :30 run :30 walk. With some camera ops, bathroom breaks, and catching up, the six miles zoomed by and we finished in a very comfortable 1:30.
We stayed the night at Disneyland’s Paradise Pier Hotel and got upgraded to a nice top floor room with a view of California Adventure!
The expo was great! After the 10K, we gallivanted around Disneyland (we have annual passes) and went back to the expo. I got to meet Jeff Galloway, Olympian and champion of the run-walk-run method, who has gotten me through basically all my races. I sort of fangirl-ed (haha) and even got a picture with him. He was super cool and nice.
Next up on the running calendar is the Hollywood 10K in April. My lofty goal for this year is to break an hour (right now, my PR is 1:15). I have a few more 10Ks lined up after that and maybe a half marathon. Let’s see if I can do it!
